CNC Precision Turning

cnc-precision-turningContour’s CNC Precision Turning utilizes state of the art Mori Seiki and Hitachi Seiki Turning Centers to perform simple to complex turning / drilling / boring / tapping / knurling operations.

Experience has been with materials ranging from aluminums and plastics to various irons, steels, and stainless steels, and we are open to developing experience in other materials.

Although turning work generally starts with hot rolled or cold drawn bar stock, the machining of castings and forgings is commonplace in our shop, even on the lathes. Work holding is generally accomplished via 10” 3 jaw chucks.

Work piece sizes range from less than 1” in diameter to about 10” in diameter, and up to about 12” in length, depending upon part configuration. Thru the bore capacity in the lathes is up to 3” diameter.

Typical volumes range from 25 pieces to 25,000 pieces. We take on prototype work when there is a good likelihood that the prototypes will lead to future production orders.

Our turning area includes:

  •  Mori Seiki NL2500Y
  • Mori Seiki NLX2500SY
  • Hitachi Seiki Super Hi-Cell
  • Hitachi Seiki HT25
